Max Brashear

Doctor Positron

Origin

Born into a lie engineered by power, Max Brashear never had a chance at a normal life.
He was the son of Blue Marvel—Adam Brashear, a man who could rival gods—and a woman who was never meant to love him. Candace Brashear, known in the shadows as Agent 314, had been assigned by S.H.I.E.L.D. to watch Adam… to contain him… to play the role of wife in a world that feared what a powerful Black man might become during segregation. What began as surveillance became something real—but the lie never disappeared. It lived in the walls, in the silences, in the things left unsaid.
Max grew up in the shadow of that tension—brilliant, biracial, and burdened. By the time he reached Howard University, he was already pushing the boundaries of quantum physics and matter itself, determined to step out from under his father’s myth. Then everything collapsed. Candace was killed by Anti-Man (Connor Sims)—Adam’s closest friend, a man Max once trusted like family. In a single moment, grief turned to something darker. Something corrosive. But the universe wasn’t done taking.During a catastrophic clash with Doctor Skorpion, Max’s twin brother Kevin was lost—cast into the abyss of the Negative Zone, a place where survival itself is a miracle. Adam survived. Kevin didn’t.
And in Max’s mind… that was no accident.
To him, his father—the world’s greatest hero—was also the man who failed to save his own family. So Max chose a different path. He disappeared into the underworld and resurfaced within W.E.S.P., trading morality for resources, vengeance for purpose. With their backing, he waged war against the Avengers—not as a conqueror, but as a son seeking to break a god.
Then came the Blip.
When Max returned, the world had moved on—but he hadn’t. Billions were given a second chance. Families were restored. Lives resumed. But Kevin was still gone. That was the moment something inside him finally shattered.
Life, Max realized, was fragile… precious… unfair. And if the universe could give second chances, then his brother deserved one too. The fact that Adam—his father, with all his power—hadn’t made that happen? To Max, that was unforgivable.
He remade himself in that fury.
Doctor Positron.A name pulled from the very fabric of antimatter—the science he had mastered, and the force he intended to weaponize. His suit became a statement: a distorted reflection of Blue Marvel’s legacy, forged with experimental alloys and reinforced with adamantium, designed to contain energies capable of tearing reality apart.
Not just a successor.
A contradiction.
Now, at twenty-three, Max went on to finish his education and quickly obtained his doctorate degree in physics and energy at a young age. Max lives in isolation beneath the city—his lab humming with unstable energy, equations scrawled like prayers across every surface. Every calculation, every experiment, drives toward one impossible goal: Reaching the Negative Zone.Saving Kevin. And proving, once and for all, that even gods can fail—and be broken.

When Doctor Positron chose to strike, he didn’t go after legends this time.
He went after legacy.
The Young Avengers were faster, unpredictable—heroes still becoming who they were meant to be. To the world, they were the future.
To Max… they were proof that the past hadn’t learned a thing.
He intercepted them mid-operation, tearing open space itself as he stepped through a fracture of violet-white energy. The battlefield shifted instantly—city streets folding into impossible angles, gravity pulling sideways, time lagging by fractions of a second.
They didn’t even get a clean formation.
Wiccan reacted first, chaos magic flaring as he tried to stabilize reality—but Max countered him effortlessly, disrupting the spell at its source.
“Magic is just poorly understood physics,” Max said coldly. “And I understand it better than you.” The backlash hit Wiccan like a shockwave, dropping him out of the fight. Then came Hulkling—raw strength, rage, and determination incarnate. He charged, expecting to overpower, to crush, to protect. But Max met him head-on, and for the first time in the fight, brute force became the weapon. Using the same superhuman strength inherited from his father, Blue Marvel, Max met Hulkling blow for blow. The impact of their collision sent shockwaves through the streets, turning cars into twisted steel and concrete into rubble. Max threw Hulkling with precision, slammed him into the ground with earth-shattering force, and twisted his momentum until Hulkling could barely rise. Every strike was measured—calculated—but devastating, proving he could rival any physical force on Earth.Kate Bishop never stopped moving—arrows flying with impossible precision. She adapted quickly, targeting weak points, joints, energy seams. Max didn’t even look at her. Every arrow burned to a crisp as his Antimatter begin to heat up like a field around him.“You're good," he admitted. “But you’re still human.” He slammed both his hands together releasing a thunder clap so powerful that it sent a shockwave that ripped her off her feet.Speed tried to change the pace—circling, striking, vanishing. For a second, it worked.
Until Max predicted the pattern. The next time Speed moved, he ran straight into a localized distortion field—slamming into blue antimatter force field that repelled him, like a ball hitting a wall and bouncing him backwards.
And Patriot—the heart of the team—kept getting back up. Even as the fight slipped further out of reach, even as everything around him broke, he stood his ground.
Max noticed that.
For a moment… he almost respected it.
“Still fighting soldier?” Max said, his voice quieter now. “Even when you can’t win.”Patriot didn’t answer. He just charged. Max ended it with a single pulse—controlled, precise, devastating. Not enough to kill.Just enough to break him, bashing Patriot's shield and sending the male flying through two walls.
Just when all hope seemed lost, that's when his father flew in and joined the fight against him, but to an inevitable end, Max lost and was thrown in the raft locked away in the most top secret government facility.

Weaknesses

Neutronium: This unique matter from the Neutral Zone is powerful enough to hurt the Blue Marvel.Magic: Due to it's unpredictablity and certain energies may disrupt his powers.Exhaustion: Overuse of his powers may cause him to become more human like in terms of his strength due to him being mixed with a non superpowered human.Neutron Energy: Negates his antimatter energy

Account Rules

Max Brashear but reimagined in a deeper, more narrative-driven way for my own MCU-style retelling. Rather than simply being Blue marvel's son with latent power, this version delves into his internal struggle, grief, and a questioning of would you do the same thing? Think of it as an indie-MCU take on Max: rooted in the comics, but reshaped and elevated with more storytelling weight.Crossovers are welcomed as well as fandomless/OCs! Triggers and language will be present in RPs for realism, things like gore may also be present. He does use Black/AAVE slang and is from the hood as a reminder.Lewd themes and posts will be present but not my primary focus. Nothing against lewd accounts but I am very story driven and love to plot. Don't expect lewd right off the bat, if there isn't any chemistry, no lewd will be present.
